Ted E. Bear
I wanted to let you know that sadly Teddy passed away last night. My Dad called me at 12:30 A.M. to tell me that he was acting "funny" (lost bowel control and was laying on the floor and didn't want to get up). While we were on the phone, as my Dad was petting him, he passed away. Needless to say, my father has lost what we all consider a "best friend". I was on the phone last night with emergency vets at 1:00 AM because we weren't sure what to do (I am an hour away from my Dad and Dave was spending the night at Courtney's dog sitting). They assured us that we could wait until morning so I am headed there now so we can have him cremated. Thanks for opening your arms and hearts and souls to this wonderful dog who would have otherwise "met his maker" a lot sooner than August 16, 2009. Rest assured that he lived an incredibly comfortable and happy life with my Mom and Dad and then just with my Dad. My Dad is truly heartbroken and did break down on the phone last night. I have to run because the hospital opens at 9:30 AM. Dave and I will get a photo and be purchasing a full page ad in the Halloween Parade booklet in memory of this loyal, loving member of our family.

Humphrey
We have raised four children, who now have children of their own. 12 wonderful grandchildren. For almost 7 years we took care of my Mom, who had Alzheimers Disease. All that time we had pets. A little over a year ago we had to say good-bye to our 19 yr. old pet, Boogaloo. I thought that I would never want another pet. It just hurts so much when they are gone. My children kept telling me that I should get another pet because I love them so much. Well I listened to them. I went on line and found Wag On Inn Rescue. Looking through the pictures of the many pets that needed a home, I saw Humphrey's picture. I read his description. He just sounded perfect! I filled out the application, and shortly after Jody contacted me. She was so very helpful in getting all the information that was needed for us to adopt Humphrey. Then I was told that Kathy, Humphrey's foster Mom would set up a meeting. I couldn't wait. The first time I saw him, Kathy was with my husband bringing him to our home. It was love at first sight. His little over bite made him looked like he was smiling. He was so gentle, and friendly. My daughter, Marge, and her children were here to meet Humphrey too. He laid on his back so that my grandson could rub his tummy. Kathy said, that he would need a re-check by his doctors, and if everything was ok, he was ours. Kathy has been amazing, I know how full her days are. She was always there if I needed to ask a question. Kathy is so dedicated. Humphrey was finally ours in February. He was everything that we wanted. He was only in his crate for about a week, then he slept anywhere he wanted, he was so well behaved. When I got up in the morning he would greet me with a wagging tail and that wonderful smile. He loved meeting new people and other furry friends. He even made friends with a Beagle that doesn't particularly make friends. I think Humphrey's calm disposition had something to do with that. He loved to sit by my Husband's feet while he was on the computer. I would here my Husband talking to him like he was talking with one of his buddies. After Humphrey's first grooming, he looked so handsome. He stood there, I knew he was very proud of the way he looked. Kate, his groomer said, that she wished all of her clients behaved as well as Humphrey. At night I would sit on the floor and brush him, I enjoyed that almost as much as he did. When we first adopted our Humphrey, we knew that he had dry eye and a heart murmur. On one visit to our Vet. a lump was discovered, it tested positive for Lymphoma. On the adoption site it states that these animals need love. Humphrey gave us more love and many happy memories than we could ask for. I know that there could never be another Humphrey Hanily, but in the future, if you find an other pet that might like us, please let us know. On the other side of the bridge to forever, our animal friends wait for us. Good-bye hurts so much. But someday we will think of our Humphrey with smiles instead of tears. It will feel as if his little soul has left a rainbow in our hearts. June 20, 2009 God Bless you, Ginny and Joe Hanily

Robin Rabin Sabra
Robin Rabin Sabra Davis, named after Rabin, the Prime Minister of Israel who died the same week that we adopted Robin, came into our family in November, 1995. He was on death row, probably due to overcrowding, in a shelter and a newspaper ad that listed him as available changed our lives for the better forever. He was only 9 months old and had been at the shelter for 3 months. How no one could want such a perfect, wonderful dog typifies how many dogs like Robin are out there, just waiting for the right home to recognize their special beauty and goodness. Robin was the Captain of our ship. We have three dogs, all rescued, and he was the King of them all. He was stately, smart beyond belief, gentle as a lamb, expressive in human and canine terms, and he was trained in obedience on and off leash by a superior trainer and so we could proudly take him anywhere, including to nursing homes to cheer those who needed his gentle and affectionate kisses. Robin was simply the most wonderful dog that any family could possibly adore. He was gorgeous--the perfect combination of Doberman and Shepherd and he looked like both breeds, depending on the angle of his stunning face. Everyone thought he was much younger than his 13 1/2 years, for he was still a puppy inside. He was sleek, graceful, and princely in his manner. Robin was clean about himself, gentle to all living things and the most loyal of dogs that we could ever hope for. He carried himself, to the very end with dignity. He knew how to reason things out and our Pit mix, Sophie, was lucky to stumble into our family one special day and have Robin as her big brother. He taught her well--and now, she will have to carry on his legacy. She will miss him and his playful nature; even at 13 1/2 years old, he still played with her. Robin was even able to be trusted by our wonderful rescued dog, Snoopy, who is fearful and not as trusting of most other dogs. In his younger years, Robin could run around our backyard like the wind, gracefully gliding through the trees and grass. Robin lived a privilege life--daily walks around the whole park, daily rides in the van, superior dog food, proper diet and vitamins, brushed teeth and lullaby every night, and the best medical care that anyone could possibly have, human or animal. He was our baby boy, our special heart and we will miss him terribly. We only hope that there are many other dogs out there who will find a wonderful home to share their love and to be loved. Rest in peace, "our heart of hearts, our soul of souls". We will always remember you and thank the day that you walked into our hearts and lives. You gave us more than anyone could ever expect to receive. We will always respect and love your memory. This picture was taken, ironically, on 9/20/07, He loved his walks at the Reservoir and would tolerate his mommy constantly taking pictures and videos of him. Every moment was a precious gift Jody and Ken Davis and Family

Midnight
Sadly, Midnight the beautiful, green eyed dainty feral cat has been missing now for three weeks. It is not likely that she is alive because if she were, she would be at the food bowl the way she has been for the past 4 1/2 years. She used to jump for joy when I would arrive with her daily meal of wet and dry food. She would give out a little meow, so soft and delicate. She was very, very smart and was the last female to be trapped in the woods by me to be spayed and vaccinated and then released into her outdoor home. Midnight had two buddies for the past 4 1/2 years, her strong young friends, Butterscotch and Grand Daddy. It is likely that Midnight was one of the first litters of Claudia Ann Davis, Jody's feral cat, and was just not found soon enough by Ann and me to be as suited for an indoor home. A barn would have been lovely, as it would be for all the ferals, once spayed/neutered/vaccinated. Midnight used to hide in the bushes and then pop out to say hello when she heard me coming with the food. She would stay very close to her outdoor home and food bowl and that is why it is likely that she has passed away. The last week of her life, she was not eating at the food bowl but would go to it anyway, sit there with her friends and say hello to me. I knew something was wrong when she would not eat, tried to help her, but to no avail. Then, three Thursdays ago, she disappeared... I kept searching for her body but could not find her. Now, deserving of being mentioned... I have decided to post her on the Rainbow Bridge--so others hear of the plight of the ferals. They are all so deserving of forever homes but if others can at least spay, neuter, and then keep feeding them, they will have a chance at life and a chance to be loved. Midnight had such a chance and was very well loved by Ann and me. I miss her bright green eyes, her delicate face, her silky black fur, and wonder and worry everyday what became of her. I hope she is at peace and did not suffer long. Now, may she rest in peace...under the stars. Jody Davis

Peanut
Peanut had a short life but one filled with love, joy and sunshine. He would bring a smile to everyones face. Rest in peace little one. You'll be forever in our hearts.
