Oakley is a super senior who was rescued by our sister rescue in Louisiana after his owner passed away. He is estimated to be about 13 years old and 5 lbs. Sadly, his care for the last few years was not good so he is not in the best health. Oakley is blind and mostly deaf (he only hears very loud noises). His eyes do not make tears so he needs to have eye ointment as well as eye drops administered throughout the day to help with his dry eye. Oakley is currently on antibiotics for a UTI and needs medicated baths a few times a week to correct a minor fungal infection on his skin. He also has decreased kidney function so he drinks and goes potty a lot more than an average dog. Despite his laundry list of ailments, Oakley is happy and not in any pain. He loves to feel the breeze, roll in the grass, and snuggle. As long as Oakley’s quality of life is good and he enjoys his life, we will continue to fight for him. Oakley is currently in a dedicated “fospice” home who is prepared to care for Oakley for the rest of his days. We will only consider adopters with a great deal of experience with at least one of the following: special needs dogs, seniors dogs, dogs with complex medical needs. Wag On Inn is graciously accepting donations towards Oakley’s care, please click the yellow “Sponsor   This Pet” button to be redirected to our Paypal to make a donation.
