Joel (aka Bean) is one of 6 pups who came to us from Puerto Rico. He weighs 16.5 lbs at almost 4 months old. Bean bonded very quickly with his foster mom, and he always wants to be with her.  He follows her everywhere and loves to be in her lap whenever possible.  He's a big snuggler.  Bean can be shy in new situations right now, but he's doing great with the 3 kids and 5 dogs in his foster home. We're working to help him appreciate that people can be trusted.

Bean just wants to be cuddled and have lots of loving.  Bean has play dates with his brothers and they all enjoy themselves immensely. He loves other dogs. Watch him playing in the video below!

We think Bean would prefer a calm family, at least based on how his personality right now. His new family should have dog experience and should be willing to be patient while he builds trust in them. He's improved a lot since he's been here; we think he'll become much less shy. He's happy with people he knows and is a fun pooch. He did great on a weekend visit with another foster family - he is good with other dogs and warmed up to the humans quickly.
