Rascal is an 18 month old purebred Shiba Inu surrendered because "the kids weren't taking care of the dogs". He is very active and friendly, and is looking for a home that loves the breed. He has been known to climb fences, so leash-walks are a must for this cutie. He also is picky about which dogs he likes, so would do best as an only pet, or with a female dog. Shibas are generally not a good dog for a person looking for their first dog. Please research the breed before thinking of adopting one. They are a cute looking dog, but can be a handful. ***update: Rascal can scale a 6 foot fence. He needs to be leash walked and not left off lead not even in a fenced yard. He would also make a good jogging partner. ***Shibas being a primitive breed, can never be let off leash, unless in the house or in a secure yard with a tall fence.. ****Finally after a long vacation with my rescue friends, I have a new home of my own. I have a new human "dad". Man do I really like him. He's gentle with me and we will have much fun together. We can go jogging and sniffin' stuff. He even got me this cool leash thing so I'm safe but can run off and come back without getting lost. Oh I'm so happy to be able to start my life again with this wonderful family......life is good. Rascal.
