Taco is a 1 1/2 year old male, 12 lb, neutered, Chi-Min pin mix. His owners, unable to continue to care for him while rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina, surrendered him to the St. Bernard Parish Animal Shelter in Chalmette, Louisiana. Because the shelter was overcrowded and adoptions were low it was requested that he be transported to NJ for fostering to find a find a loving adoptive home. Taco is a little bundle of love, with an abundance of personality. He loves people, attention and to be in your lap! However, while Taco will chill and snuggle and snooze in your lap, he is not a lap dog — he is also feisty and energetic. He is crate trained and house trained (but needs an experienced caregiver or family, with older children who can provide structure with his feeding and toileting routine). Taco likes to go on walks and he loves treats. He has been around cats and gets along very well with dogs of all sizes — he loves to play with and boss around the big dogs! If you have been looking for an engaging and adorable companion that will be devoted to you, please consider adopting Taco.
