12 week old pure bred male Shiba Inu was surrendered by his owner because he did not play "well" with their 3 year old human baby and they were moving. Shiba Inus require a special owner who understand the nature of this breed, they are not your average lap dog. Shibas are independent, extremely smart and can be a challenge for a novice dog owner. Shibas can never ever be trusted off lead or left in an area that is NOT SECURE by appropriate fencing.. YOU ARE URGED TO READ UP ON THIS BREED. Individuals or families familiar with northern spitz breeds like Akitas would do best. We are looking for local adopters (Toms River NJ area) but will consider very qualified homes outside the immediate area.
