Hi there! My name is Underdog, like the dog that wears a cape and does good in the world. My foster mommy in New Jersey loves to call me Leone. My tale is that of love, friendship and heartbreak. See.....I was abandoned in Puerto Rico and my human was all alone in puerto rico without friends and family. We struck a bond of love and friendship and traveled together. We met a wonderful lady with a dog named Lucky and every weekend, the four of us would travel the college campus together, walking and talking and we dogs playing. It was a great time. Then we ended up homeless. Both my human and I were left in the streets. What were we to do? Well, our friend who spent time with us on weekends took my human into her apartment, but only one dog is allowed so she found another friend who would care for me for a little while. Well, there are so many dogs in puerto rico looking for a home, and my human isn't able to care for me the way he would like so it was decided that it would be best for me to come to NJ where my human lived before he went to Puerto Rico.
Here is my story NOW: I am living in a foster home near the ocean in New Jersey. I really like to watch the waves and although I have not gone for a swim, the ocean soothes me and probably reminds me of Puerto Rico. I am very, very affectionate and will give you so many kisses that you will be filled with love...my love. I am loyal and very alert. I like most dogs, especially if they are friendly, too. I do not seem to mind the cats that I have met in New Jersey and ignore them but I am not sure about living with one. Who knows? I walk really nicely on a leash and love to go for walks, runs, car rides and go potty outside. I am quiet and playful and full of happiness and love. I will cuddle into your lap and snuggle with you for as you as you would like. I am active but not hyper and can sit with you and watch television or just lounge around the house with you. I would love a fenced in yard where I can show you how graceful and playful I am. I am really happy to be in New Jersey and hope that all of my sorrow is behind me now. I am neutered, vaccinated, just about a year and a half to two years old, and ready and hoping for my forever home soon. My eyes tell my story and my heart is filled with love and forgiveness.
