Little Mama is a beauty who is looking for a new home! Little Mama is with our partner rescue in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon. We are looking for a foster to see her through heartworm treatment.

Little Mama found herself at a dead end shelter in southern Louisiana where she sat in a kennel for months. She came in pregnant, had pups and they all were adopted but Little Mama was never picked. This shelter is in a rural area with no budget for veterinary care so we knew we had to get this beautiful mama out and into a partner rescue to save her life.

Little Mama is now in foster with other dogs and cats and she is doing very well. She is friendly and sweet and a certified good girl. A few baths and some good nutrition has done wonders for her skin and coat.

Little Mama is fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is heartworm positive and will require treatment at our vet in Barnegat, NJ. Treatment includes 30 days of antibiotoics which she has started and then two injections at Barnegat Animal Clinic followed by 30 days of "light duty."  Her adoption fee is $450.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
