Betty is a special girl who is looking for a new home. Betty is currently with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon. We do offer a foster-to-adopt trial to approved adopters.

Betty was rescued from a high kill shelter in southern Louisiana. She is currently in a foster home in Louisiana getting lots of love and care. Betty has had a hard life. She is suffering the effects of heartworm and having some complications because of this. Her heart is enlarged from the worms and our partner rescue is working addressing her medical needs carefully to keep Betty feeling well. She is on some cardiac meds to help her heart function more efficiently. Due to Betty's heartworm complications, she cannot be spayed just yet but that can be done once she is stronger and feeling better.

Betty has begun slow-kill heartworm treatment which will be easier on her heart at this time. Slow kill treatment includes an oral antibiotic and heartworm prevention. Her treatment will be re-evaluated every 6 months. Betty has improved so much under the care of our partner rescue we are confident she will continue to improve. We are looking for a foster or adopter to continue Betty's care here in NJ. Betty is dog friendly but prefers calmer pups. She is housebroken and crate trained. Betty is microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
