Lauren is one of the litter of beagle mix puppies saved by one of our sister rescues in Louisiana. She is now in a NJ foster home and doing great.
The litter was being given away at the local Walmart without any vaccines or veterinary care. Our friends at Atchafalaya River Rescue took them in, got them vetted and ready to come to NJ. They are friendly, sweet, loving puppies who appear to be beagle mixes. Lauren has adorable short little legs so we are wondering if there might be Dachshund in there?
At this age, they are dog, cat and kid friendly! Lauren has met a lot of dogs, people and children in her foster home, and plays with everyone. She is outgoing and happy. She loves to play and tears around the yard, and then climbs up the steps to the couch to nap.
Lauren weighs about 10 lbs at 3 months of age so we are guessing that she'll be between 30 and 40 lbs full grown. (We were told their date of birth was 10/26/24.)
Lauren and her sister Marcie contracted Parvo at some point during their journey to NJ, and were treated locally - thankfully they are completely healthy now. They spent some extra time in foster and are loving all the play time they're having.
Lauren has had her first 3 DHPP vaccines and her adopter will need to ensure that she gets the last one at the end of February, when she can also get her rabies vaccine.
Wag On Inn Rescue will arrange to have the pups fixed and microchipped when they are 5-6 months old at the Spay/Neuter Center in Holmdel NJ. Adopters must live within one hour driving distance of Holmdel, live in NJ, and be agreeable to bringing them for spay/neuter.
The adoption fee is $550.
