Nelson is a handsome mixed breed boy who is now in a NJ foster home.

Nelson is smart and loves his people. He is affectionate and listens well. He loves being outside. Nelson is housebroken and crate trained but seems to be crate reactive at times, reacting to people or other animals while in crate. He is responding very well to training and is a great pup overall but has some weird quicks, like the crate reactivity.

Nelson does well with most dogs but takes some times to make friends. He was besties with Toby (a docile large male lab mix) right from the start, took a few days to befriend Stella (an older border collie mix female) and took a few weeks to befriend Tinsel (an older, smaller hound mix). He does well with all of the dogs now but it has taken some time to work through. 

Nelson has had some sessions with a trainer and he is doing so well! We are so proud of him and his foster family for working on his training!  Nelson still has some guarding issues with food and toys so some management is needed. With time, love and training, his behavior has improved greatly. We love this boy!

Nelson is fixed, microchipped and up to date on rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. His adoption fee is $550.
