Duke originally came to us as a puppy from Virginia last year, with his 3 siblings.  He has grown into an exceptionally handsome dog.

Duke is doing very well in his foster home, where he gets exercise and there's always a lot going on.  He's a nice boy who enjoys people.  He's been very good with friendly dogs, big and small.  He's been playing nicely with little Cookie, who was also available for adoption, and they had a great time together until she was adopted.  Check out the 2nd video  below - he is very gentle and they had a lot of fun.  Cookie enjoys getting under the bushes and tormenting Duke.  We were impressed to see a nurturing side to Duke when we had a blind, elderly chihuahua visiting.  Duke was gentle with her and kept an eye on her at all times.

Duke is housetrained.  He likes to play catch with a tennis ball.  He enjoys toys, and he loves to run.  We think he has some greyhound in him.

Duke needs a home where he can get exercise.  A home with another active dog to play with, or a runner in the family who wants a companion, would be perfect. He  sleeps in bed with everyone at night.  He really enjoys snuggling (check out the photo of him in bed with his foster mom)!

Duke's new family will need to continue his manners training (he still jumps up on people to say hi).  He can also be a little mouthy - but hasn't done it in his foster home - so it must depend on whether he thinks he can get away with it!  He's been walking nicely with a harness.
