Shadow is a beautiful girl who is looking for a new home! Those ears!  That spiky hair!  So cute.  She's just turned one year old and weighs 24 lbs. Shadow is in a NJ foster home waiting to find her forever family.

Shadow and her sister Raven were abandoned outside when their mom was killed in February and the pups were very young.   Shadow apparently had limited socialization before coming to us, and she was quite shy when first meeting people.  She's getting much better and now goes up to people to say hi when we're on walks. She is very loving to her foster family, and gives lots of kisses.

Shadow seems to be housetrained now, on a regular schedule.  She was sleeping the night in a crate in her foster family's bedroom without complaint, but lately has been sleeping outside of her crate and does well. Sometimes she goes into the open crate because it's too crowded on the bed for her! 

Shadow has taken many neighborhood walks and beach walks and loves getting out.  She gets very excited to go for her walks!

Shadow plays with the other foster pup in her foster home (Badger, also available), and she LOVES the little foster puppies there, but I think she'll be fine as an only dog, too.  She follows her foster parents everywhere and is very attached to them.

I think that she would be skittish of kids (and people) who are loud/fast. She's still learning to trust.
 

Shadow will need a family who can continue to work on helping her to open up and trust humans so she can be a happy, healthy girl.  It just takes love and patience, and it is very rewarding to watch a dog grow.

Shadow has been spayed and microchipped, and is up to date on vaccines. She tested negative for heartworms. Her adoption fee is $400.
