Pearlie (also called Hallie in her foster home) is about 2 years old and looks like a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix (but you never can tell for sure).  She is NOT a non-shedding dog. Pearlie weighs about 15 lbs.

Pearlie came to us from Animal Control in New York City.  She was sadly surrendered by her owners when they could no longer keep their home.

Pearlie is a sweet girl who has been very friendly to everyone. She's been good with neighborhood kids, but since she can be a little fearful at times, we would only place her in a home with older, respectful children. She wouldn't want to be grabbed by surprise and we're not sure how she would react.

Pearlie got attached to "her person" in her foster home very quickly, and can be very clingy.  She loves laps and attention and always wants to be close.  She is great with her foster dad and will cuddle with him, but if her foster mom is around, she only has eyes for her.  :-)  She doesn't even want to walk with her foster dad if she can see her foster mom.  She's a very funny girl who knows what she wants.

Pearlie took about a week to feel truly comfortable in her foster home.  She was a little skittish at first and would do submissive pees if she was nervous.  However, she is housetrained when on a good schedule.  She pottied once on a piddle pad indoors but otherwise potties outside.  She prefers to do her business on leash and on concrete, but she'll make exceptions and go in the yard.  She's a city dog, for sure.

Pearlie has not yet started to play with the other (small) dogs in her foster home, but she is very comfortable around them.  She doesn't like large dogs at first and will yell at them to leave her alone if they get too close. She will endure them, though.

Pearlie is up-to-date with her vaccines and is spayed and microchipped.

Pearlie's adoption fee is $400.
