MaeMae is about 1 year old and weighs about 40 lbs.  She is getting lots of loving in a NJ foster home. They report that she's very sweet and loves to cuddle.  MaeMae is housetrained and crate trained.  She does pretty well riding in the car - as long as there aren't any squirrels or bicycles in sight(!) She still has some puppy energy, and loves to play fetch with her tennis ball, so we'd love for her to have a fenced yard.

MaeMae has been very well-behaved so far. She does get a little mouthy and jumpy when she's in "playing mode" or if she is generally over-stimulated, so she'll need some training on that and also on her leash manners.

She has met several dogs and children since coming to NJ and has done well with all of them. The temporary foster who recently watched Mae said she did well with their cat too. She loves playing with dogs and her foster thinks she would do really well in a home with other playful dogs.

The Louisiana foster told us that MaeMae does need to be fed separately from other pets, likely a result of living with several other dogs in her prior home and possibly not getting enough to eat. Her Louisiana foster says she is doing much better with food guarding now that she is being fed well and on a regular schedule, but to be cautious, we would recommend feeding MaeMae in her crate or separately from other pets. There are no other pets in her NJ foster home,  and we haven't seen any food guarding issues with humans.

Pablo, Ross and MaeMae and a few other dogs were all surrendered by the same family who lost their home in Louisiana. Pablo is also here in NJ looking for his home. They also lived with at least 1 cat in their prior home.

MaeMae has been spayed and microchipped and is up to date on vaccines. MaeMae tested negative for heartworm in March 2022. MaeMae's adoption fee is $400.
