Tess came to us from Louisiana on 11/13. We think she was born around 8/19/21. Tess currently weighs about 40 lbs. and we believe that she'll weigh about 50 lbs full-grown.
It is unclear what the mix of Tess'
s litter is. One of her brother's DNA showed 14 different breeds, including Siberian Husky, German Shepherd, Pittie, Cattledog, Aussie, Collie, Malinois, Lab, Golden, Chihuahua, Plott Hound... Tess has the brindle coloring of a Cattledog on her legs. But really, we have absolutely no clue on her litter! They were found in a box by a good Samaritan at about 3 weeks old in Louisiana.
Tess is a very happy and friendly girl. She's great with dogs in her foster home, and has been very sweet to children she meets. She likes to give kisses to everyone! She has learned "sit" and has been doing wonderfully with her housetraining. She uses the doggie door in her foster home to go outside, and we don't have to worry about keeping an eye on her. Tess's favorite toy is ice cubes - she bats them around and then eats them. She even brings ice in from outside when there's some on the ground!
Tess is really a great dog. She loves when we get small foster puppies - she mommies them and plays with them, too.
Tess has sometimes been initially anxious about dogs larger than her, but if we give her a little time, she is fine. She plays pretty roughly so she can hold her own, but she can be a little afraid at first.
Tess loves to run, so ideally she'd have a yard and another dog to play with.
We learned that she really doesn't like cars with loud mufflers -- when one drove by at a recent outreach, she hid under her foster mom's chair for a while.
Tess came to us with an eye problem. According to the ophthalmologist she saw, she had an ulcerated eye and glaucoma. He recommended having the eye removed, and her surgery was done in February. She's completely recovered and you'd never know. The biopsy showed that her cornea had been ruptured.
Tess has
received all her puppy vaccines and rabies, and has received treatment for parasites, etc. She is spayed and microchipped.
Tess's adoption fee is $450.
