Meet little Raine! Raine is a super playful Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix ... we are guessing. And don't let her age fool you, she wrestles around with all the younger pups - just check out her videos. Although her favorite activity is still just to hang with her person/people. She is the most devoted, loyal companion you could ask for.

Raine did not have the best life. This poor girl was found freezing and starving on Valentine’s Day (2021) all curled up in a little ball under a tree in the middle of the worst ice storm in decades. She had been neglected and not loved or cared for in a very long time. She had all but given up. 

Raine came to NJ at the end of May (2021) and we noticed she had some health concerns.  Raine had been treated for heartworm but sadly, the treatment came a little too late as she had suffered damage to her heart and lungs from the heartworms. Luckily, we have some great resources when it comes to heart issues and heartworm disease and Raine is now doing really well.  With medication, good care, and nutrition, Raine has made an amazing turnaround.  She will still require a few medications on a daily basis (several times a day) and we aren't sure what her life expectancy will be but she has a lot of love to give and needs a person to share that with. Her ideal home is with someone who is home often as she loves to sit with her person and follow them around. 

Raine is is estimated  at approx. 12 years old, 13 lbs, and she's been fixed, microchipped and she is up to date on vaccines.
