Giselle is an approximately 1-2 year old lab mix.  She and her sibling Gaston were found together running stray in Louisiana – we do not know for how long or what their early history was.  Giselle is extremely timid and anxious, and while she does show improvements, she is still learning to trust. She does play actively with her brother in the yard.  Giselle is reluctant to walk on the leash - she is fearful of neighborhood sights and sounds.  With much patience and coaxing, one day she walks around the block but the next day she resists.

She is crate trained for overnight and meals and seems fully housebroken.   She is fearful of unexpected noises and sudden movements but is improving.  While she stopped hiding under furniture, she does retreat when nervous to her safe place on the couch, where she feels more comfortable and likes attention and to be loved on.  She is still somewhat nervous of the doorway to enter from the back yard; however, she is becoming more confident daily.

Giselle needs a home without young children (older, gentle and mature children may be okay) and one that has the time and patience to help her socialize and adjust at her own pace.   She might do best with a dog sibling and a yard.  She is a sweet and gentle girl who deserves a forever home.

Giselle is heartworm negative, spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400.

***Please note: for all adoptable dogs we do our best to save them from high-kill shelters or being dumped and running stray. We provide core vetting: spay or neuter, microchip, rabies, distemper/parvo & bordatella vaccines, heartworm test, heartworm, tick and flea prevention, parasite treatment and testing and transport to NJ. We cannot guarantee long term health or behavior for any dog.***
