Wendy is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet!  She is so special. She loves everyone, is great with dogs and is the happiest pup I know. She loves to play and have fun, inside and outside. She’s a big fan of fetch.

Wendy was rescued with several other dogs from a hoarding situation. It soon became clear to her LA rescuers that Wendy was exhibiting neurological symptoms. After several thorough veterinary exams and testing, it is the neurologist’s (Red Bank Veterinary Hospital) informed opinion that Wendy has idiopathic epilepsy. Wendy's initial symptoms (shakes and tremors) are currently being managed with an anti-seizure medication and she is doing really well.  She is also currently taking a steroid but we are in the process of weaning her off that. If Wendy continues to do as well as she is doing, then, once she is off the steroid and remains stable, the neurologist may consider tapering down on the anti-seizure medication. Wendy has not been vaccinated for rabies yet due to her condition.  The neurologist will reevaluate this in a few months if she remains stable. She is current on vaccines for distemper/parvo and bordetella.  Wendy has been microchipped.

Wendy's adopter would need to be willing to manage her care and treatment (including providing her with any medication she may need). The adopter must also understand their primary vet or neurologist may have different recommendations for Wendy as we have found veterinary recommendations vary significantly from vet to vet.  Her condition is not contagious to other dogs.  Wendy's adoption fee is $400.
