Lexi is a beautiful hound mix who was found in a rural shelter in Kansas by one of our rescue partners. She liked Lexi and her dog-mate Lucky so much that she brought them back home to Louisiana so they could head up to Wag On Inn Rescue.

Lexi is a sweet senior 9-year-old girl who sometimes acts half her age.  She loves to be around people who supply her with pets, ear scratches, and tummy rubs. A pleasure to foster, Lexi quickly adapted well to her foster home and is fun to be around. She loves squishy toys and the tennis ball, and is just a happy-go-lucky pup.

This good girl does not counter-surf (although she can due to her height), does not get into trash, or chew or destroy anything in the house. She also is housetrained. She has 24/7 run of the house and has not been crated. She does tend to pull on a leash at first and then relaxes.  She LOVES her walks!

Lexi is adventurous, and her foster parents would not trust her off leash unless in a fenced area. She is not adept at coming back when called. She is smart, though, and loving towards her people, and she is also treat-motivated, so her family can work on training. She is an escape artist too, so her family should work on “wait” with her.

Lexi is super sweet and will be your constant companion.  She LOVES car rides. She could be fine as an only dog or with male canine companions but no small dogs. No cats for Lexi.

Lexi had very itchy skin upon arriving in NJ and her foster mom is working on this with an antihistamine, gentle baths, and a special grain free diet.

Miss Lexi will be a wonderful companion to her new family.

Lexi is fully vetted - spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is heartworm negative. Lexi's adoption fee is $300.
