When Nana arrived at the Texas pound there was little hope that this tiny chocolate Chihuahua would recover from her starvation, overbreeding and neglect. She was afraid of everything, was loosing her hair and was hump-backed and knock-kneed. With lots of love and good food from her rescuer, Nana’s health has improved dramatically every day as you can see from her photos. Her back is straight and she runs around like a little race car when she is excited. She loves rubs around her ears and tummy and will wrestle with your fingers under the covers. She loves her doggy steps to get into bed with her person. Other than occasionally lying next to another dog, she does not seem very interested in them, and she will bark at cats and chase them. She will bark if something grabs her attention and is not comfortable with most strangers. She is housebroken if her person will take her out regularly but she has not learned to walk on a leash yet due to her small size. She would do best with a very secure yard for outings, no children because of her size, and a person who is home most of the time. Experienced Chihuahua person preferred.
