Floyd is a handsome 1-year-old boy looking for his furever family.  He looks like a Hound/Shepherd mix, and  was found as a stray in North Carolina.  He weighs around 45-50 lbs and has a possibility of growing a little more.

Floyd is still very much a puppy. He loves to cuddle and give kisses, and thinks he is a small dog! He would be great with a younger family that can keep up with such a big puppy! Floyd is such a sweet boy.

Floyd gets along with other dogs, big and small, and has shown no interest in cats. He loves to play. Floyd loves stuffed chews, like Kongs and stuffed bones.  He also loves puzzle games like the Kong wobble ball and puzzle balls. He is now housetrained and prefers to go outside with a human companion. His foster mom is working on crate training.

Floyd greets strangers with a little tail wag, and wants attention within a few minutes.  He does warm up quickly! Although he is very sweet, Floyd is a very special pup who needs a very special home.  He has some fearfulness, which we've been working on in his foster home. He gets very nervous on walks and spooks easily. He hasn't yet figured out that he can potty when he's on a leash - he will potty in the yard, though, so he does need a home with a yard. Floyd is also nervous going up and down the stairs, but he's been making progress and will now, with encouragement, tackle those scary stairs! He's still young, and we don't know what his life was like before coming to us.  He will learn to trust, and will make someone or some family very happy!

Floyd has been neutered, is microchipped, and is up to date on vaccines. Floyd tested heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $400.
