PICKING THE RIGHT ANIMAL FOR YOUR LIFESTYLE

Are you thinking about adding a pet to your family?  Do you know what kind of animal would be the best match for you?  It's important to consider your family members and lifestyle. There are a lot of resources available online that can help.  Here's one, for starters, from Best Friends Animal Society.

Once you decide what kind of animal, there are many breeds to chose from within that species.  Breed descriptions (available from many places online) only provide information about the "typical" personality of that breed.  It is important to meet each individual animal to be sure that the personality is right for you.  Many of our rescues are mixed breeds, and each has its own unique personality.

It's important to consider the amount of time you have available to play with, care for, and train your pet. Our volunteers will be able tell you about the personality of each animal, and whether they think it would be a good match for you.
