Kipper is a cute little guy who was pulled from a shelter in New York. Our best guess is he is a pemmie/cardi with maybe some cattle dog mixed in. He is black with brown brindling and is about a year and a half old. He's had a rather rocky early life- before he was a year old he had two families.
Kipper is a lot of dog in a small package. He is smart, confident, and athletic with a lot of attitude.
I've found him to be 100 percent reliable in the house. He is crate trained and very eager to learn. After unsuccessfully placing him in a first-time pet home, we have determined that this high-drive little dog is happiest when he is working and has someone who is clear about what is wanted of him. He needs a good run a few times a day, but if he gets that he is happy to sit, chew his bone or play with his toys on the floor or in his crate. He loves to go for rides in the car in his crate. He gives great eye contact, focuses on the task and really enjoys learning. He never met a human stranger and his tail never stops wagging. He responds well to positive training methods and is learning self control quickly. He bonds almost immediately with anyone who gives him attention or food. At just under 20 pounds he is a convenient size for any situation. We have not yet tested him with cats.
Right now Kipper is in Monmouth County NJ.
