Bubbie Boy was found running loose in the pouring rain near the famous Coney Island, NY boardwalk and was picked up by concerned citizen and taken to the pound. Turns out Bubbie Boy did at one time have a place to call home, however, when the shelter contacted his owners they said they did not want Bubbie any more and hung up. Bubbie now found himself in the NYC shelter system with no time left. ARWNY was called and ask to help, and help we did. Bubbie was brought to safety where we have had a chance to know him a little better and will update our site as we learn more. So far Bubbie has been a very affectionate Akita who knows some basic commands, he rides well in the car, takes treats gently, and is housebroken. Bubbie will need some leash work that we will be working on with him while he awaits his new home. We did get some history on 6 yr old Bubbie and learned he has lived with children from ages 8-14 yrs. as well as living with a female lab. ARWNY is asking please no cats for Bubbie. Bubbie is not as big as our other Akitas, however, what this Akita lacks in size, he will make up to you with being forever grateful for giving him a loving place to call home again. Please give this very deserving Akita a chance to know he is loved again and not just cast aside like trash. Bubbie is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to dates on all of his shots.
